Northern Accountants, a firm based in Leeds, has launched a sister brand – Northern HR. The move is part of the firm’s ambition to be a Top 100 UK Practice.
Paula Ingham, a former HR consultant and business partner who has extensive experience in the field of human resources, is now heading up this venture.
Paula is a chartered member of Chartered Institute of Professional Development. She has over 30 years of experience in the areas of employee relations, performance management, learning and training, recruitment, and organisational development.
Her career spans environments such as real estate, banking, and providing operational and strategic HR assistance for multiple SMEs.
Her appointment as HR leader marks a significant move for Northern Accountants. The firm recently announced that it aims to be among the top 100 firms.
As a strategic growth accounting practice, we’ve always supported our clients to achieve their personal and commercial goals. ” explained Phil Ellerby, the founder. To truly understand their business, if not its DNA, we also get involved in people-related issues. The need for HR expertise, from payroll assistance to recruitment, expansion, and succession strategies is a logical step. It’s also a way of differentiating ourselves in a competitive market.
We’re in an enviable position of trust among our customers. We can now deliver more value to our customers, from the everyday essentials through to complex business transitions.
Northern HR was born just a few days after Northern Accountants announced the formation of a strategic advisory board.
Anna Masheter – a newly-admitted NED in people and culture – added: “From helping businesses set up policies, contracts, and handbooks to strategic HR planning for acquisitions and change management, Paula has experience working with employees of all levels, including line managers and directors, who are looking to grow profitable and people-optimised organizations. She is also aware of the importance of HR metrics, which are crucial in today’s economic climate.
Phil concluded by saying: “Paula represents the ninth new appointment in our ambitious journey. Northern HR is just beginning its journey. But there are many more roles in the pipeline to grow this business .”
Northern Accountants, and now Northern HR, support more than 500 organizations in the North of England, Scotland and Wales. The PS3.3m turnover company has set its sights on PS7.8m in 2030.
Northern HR offers free 50-minute consultations to organisations that need help with their people strategy. You can book these at northernhr.co.uk.
