Lawsuits can be expensive. Any business owner would do well to not hire anyone who is likely to sue.
How can you tell if someone is likely to sue them? Kevin Dahlstrom, an entrepreneur from Boulder, Colorado, tweeted about his recent experience dealing with a litigious employee:
I once hired someone who was suing their two previous employers.
They were excellent in the interview, and their explanation of the legal conflict was perfectly reasonable.
You can guess how the story ended. There’s always smoke where there’s fire.
Always, always, always.
Being sued can be a terrible experience. It is wise for companies to avoid situations in which they could be sued. It is wrong and illegal to not hire people who have previously sued their employers.
