A human resources director asked me to chat with her briefly after I delivered a talk about Generation-Z at the workplace. She said that Gen-Z workers would not stop demanding a 4-day workweek. She was at a loss for words, trying to explain why this wouldn’t work in her business.
“Tell them that the discussion is finished,” I said. This business is open five days a weeks, that’s it.
What I didn’t realize when I made my statement was that the level of harshness I used is comparable to what CEOs of large companies say.
