AI adoption is gaining momentum among HR professionals

According to WorkBuzz’s latest State of Employee engagement Report, a growing number of UK HR professionals are open to using AI in their work.

research surveyed over 335 HR professionals from the UK and found that 81 % are open to AI for HR functions. Half of the respondents described themselves as “interested”, “excited”, or “informed” about this technology. Only 19% of HR professionals were hesitant to incorporate AI into their operations.

Steven Frost, CEO at WorkBuzz, has noted a change in attitudes toward AI.

He said that the mindset of HR teams is changing, as they look for new ways to support them.

AI Adoption in Human Resources: What are the concerns?

The report found that despite the growing interest in AI among HR professionals, they were concerned about its impact. It is the loss of ‘humanity’ in HR that causes the most concern. AI’s impact on job security is also a concern, as are data privacy issues and the potential for candidates to use AI tools during the recruitment process. According to Remote’s 2024 Global Workforce Report 76 percent hiring leaders in the UK reported receiving AI generated CVs.

Frost acknowledged the concerns, but said they shouldn’t prevent AI adoption.

AI in HR should not be stopped because of concerns about its impact. He said that organisations should instead conduct a thorough assessment of their risks and implement the appropriate safeguards to identify and manage any potential threats.

AI’s growing role in HR operations

The report shows how AI has already reduced HR workloads, and added value in certain areas. AI-driven tools streamline processes, improve data insight and personalise the employee experience. These innovations are especially beneficial to HR teams who have multiple priorities and limited resources.

Frost stated that AI is already taking HR to a new level, automating and refining processes from recruitment to onboarding and employee management. It also delivers deep, value-adding insight while enabling tailored and curate employee experiences to make HR’s contribution even more strategic.

As more HR professionals adopt AI, they will find new and transformative ways to work, he said.
